Google Goggles connects the offline to the online world
Google Goggles have been in market almost a year but a new marketing experiment currently rolling out could give the product higher visibility.
The app enables people to search the web by taking pictures with their mobile devices.
You can use it to search for information about famous paintings, landmarks, products and more.
In this new marketing experiment Google is teaming up with five known brands; Buick, Disney, Diageo, T-Mobile and Delta Airlines to extend the offline marketing to the mobile web.
The brands have "Goggles-enabled" on their print ads, movie posters and other media.
Users can take pictures of these using their Google Goggles App that will then link them through to the mobile desintation for the brand.
Sounds to me like a way cooler version of the old QR code.

You can download the Google Goggles App for free - it's called "Google Mobile App" on itunes for those of us with iPhones and "Google Goggles" on the Andriod Market for those of you with Android phones.
On a different note, for those who have Android handsets how are you finding the experience over the iPhone experince or other smart phones? I am curious.
